While the Red Sox should have won two of three from the Angels, it’s hard to expect much more when you throw out a career triple A pitcher, a pitcher that’s never pitched beyond double A, and Jon Lester on three days rest against a pretty good offense.

Still, the meltdown of the bullpen in game three was certainly ugly, and a concern. Hopefully Craig Hansen gets a chance to make his mark (and take the place of Javier Lopez please). Unless there’s a quick turnaround I doubt the bullpen in August will look anything like the current incarnation.

On the bright side, Justin Masterson looked dominant in what should have been his first Major League victory. Here’s hoping we see more of him sooner than later.
